Don't Over Think It-

Do you EVER over-think stuff?

Gosh, I do....a lot...too much....sometimes to the "Nth" degree.

I can think about things so much I become like Alice going
down, down, down the rabbit hole.

Sometimes I think so much about things that I end up not doing much,
except thinking about that thing, instead of making a decision and MOVING....

I doubt any of YOU can relate.

Nope, just me, right?
:0)

Well, I've started 4 blog posts that I'm not even 1/2 way done with.
I over-thank them...yup, the past tense of "think" is "thank", not "thought".
There you go, overthinking again!

Anyhow, sometimes you just gotta get out there and do it-
Whatever it is...

Sometimes you just gotta take a step, even if you don't know where that step is leading,
just to see WHAT shows up
or to see WHAT happens?

Kind of like Indiana Jones, when he gets to this huge cavern and must step out
"In Faith".
Each step magically "shows" up as he steps out.

Kind of like Peter, who was able to walk on water.

Matthew 14:22-33

New International Version (NIV)

Jesus Walks on the Water
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.
Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.

26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them:

“Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.

“You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Lesson: When we focus on our Lord, we can do the un-do-able!

Let's get out there, friends!
Let's take a step of faith!

Let's take a step and SEE what shows up!

Let me know what steps of faith you are taking and what shows up!

Happy Weekend!

  1. Funny - I never over-think things...uh, yeah right.

Great post to think about - LOL - but seriously, great stuff to think about. It's so true, thinking can so often can stop us from taking the very necessary step of doing.

God wants our faith to MOVE us - He wants us to step out, and trust Him for the results. I was reminded of this verse from Isaiah 30:

"Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, 'This is the way you should go,' whether to the right or to the left."

But, of course, we must get going and follow Him - then He'll lead.

I'm not sure what my next step of faith is - I guess right now I'm leaning on the hope that God will bring something clear for me to do. And then, of course, that He will give me the power to do it! I'll keep you posted.

Thanks, friend - miss you - GOD BLESS!

  3. Thanks for this............ Last week I should have been preparing for two training sessions I have to do, but instead all I had been doing was thinking about it. Now I am working overtime. I have learned my lesson. Blessings Janet
