Are we all weird?

Okay, in my last post I blogged about how totally AWESOME it is that
God created
EACH one of us
totally unique, one of a kind, a masterpiece!

But,
SERIOUSLY?

Look at yourself....

I mean
reeaaaaalllly look!

Don't you have a few weird things that make you-
YOU?

Of course...

but this is not about YOU,

this is about ME!

Here are some weird things about me that make me
"totally unique"
"One of a kind"
"A Masterpiece"

(ha ha!)

I have a little "beauty mark" on the right side of my mouth.

My son (he was about 7) asked me why I had that little beauty mark there.
I told him (of course what my parents told me) that it meant that I was a good kisser.
He then asked me why he had a beauty mark on his "peeps".
(that is what we call his private part)

cricket....cricket...

I also had an operation on my left 4th toe.
There was this bone growing out of my toe and it hurt my toe when I wore shoes,
so in the 5th grade I had it "filed" down.

It is one weird looking toe...
do not ever ask me to show it to you.

I had a belly piercing that I had taken out my 6th month of my first pregnancy.
It looked wrong-
A big old belly with a belly ring sticking out of it?
Very classy, ohhhh yes.

My left thigh has a scar about an inch long on it.
When I was about 6 or 7,
I was riding my bike and as I turned a corner,

I hit the white brick wall that jumped out in front of me....

the corner cut my leg and there was blood EVERYWHERE.
I went home and my dad put Bactine on it then some Neosporn and
finally a large bandage.

I like having that scar.
It makes me feel tough.

I played the violin through High School and was the Concert Mistress.

I have 4 root canals. 4!

My ring fingers are double jointed.

My favorite food is candy,
more specifically,
HOT TAMALES!

When I "reeeallllly" laugh,
I tend to throw my head back (not intentionally)
and I've actually hit it against the wall or separators at restaurants
while laughing hysterically.
My friend Brad has lovingly given me the name
"Cruella"
(as in Cruella De'ville in 101 Dalmations)
because that used to happen so much when we went out w/friends.

So there.

I've told you WAY too much about how God has
made ME totally unique...
one of a kind...
a Masterpiece~

now it's your turn!

10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

We are God's Workmanship

This is me, two weekends ago, after spending two days in a hotel room writing, eating, sleeping, eating some more and talking with a girlfriend.
She writes, too.

If you haven't noticed, I'm standing by the beach..
on a bunch of rocks.

Look at the rocks I am standing on.
Here is a close up.

I am continually AMAZED at the intricacies of our world.
(which is why I just had to take a picture...)

Imagine that some people actually believe that this was all just a product of a
"BIG BOOM".

Seriously?

Now lOOk at this...

I am continually AWED at God's creativity...
LOOK at the uniqueness of each rock...

LOOK!

I could not help but think...I am one of those rocks, and guess what?
SO ARE YOU?

Which one are you?

Each rock is uniquely made, created, by GOD.
We are uniquely made, created by GOD.
(if I could be one of those rocks, I'd be the white/pinkish one)

Each of us have our own special "ingredients" that make us and shape who we are.

The bible says:
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,

I know that full well.

Psalm 139:14

There was a time that I didn't like who God made me.
I wanted long, lean legs, and a different body, but I am thankful now for my strong, healthy legs and body.
My legs do what they are supposed to (and more) and I am blessed w/a healthy body.

There was a time I didn't like that I was Japanese.
I wish I had blonde hair and blue eyes like everyone I saw on TV, but I am thankful for my heritage and background. I love my big hair and can see just fine.

There was a time that I thought I wasn't much.
I was afraid to be myself, to say how I really felt and afraid to do what I really wanted to do.

I am so thankful that I met the LORD...
HE showed me that I am special.....so are you.
HE showed me that I am beautiful....so are you.
HE showed me that I am loved....so are you.
HE showed me that HE has a purpose and a plan for me....
and HE has one for you.

10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

We all need reminders of how special, beautiful and loved we are,
and that each one of us
has a special job or purpose on this earth to fulfill.

On this Valentine's Day remember:
God LOVES YOU SO MUCH!

GOD so loved the world , that HE gave HIS only begotten son,
that whosoever BELIEVES in HIM shall not perish,
but have ETERNAL LIFE!
John 3:16

Write... Right Now!

Have you ever had to suddenly be "Creative"?

It's hard to be creative "ON DEMAND".

Some people can be funny,
"ON DEMAND",

or mean,
"ON DEMAND"

or bossy,
"ON DEMAND"

or even cute,
"ON DEMAND"
(my kids and yours)

but to be creative,
"ON DEMAND"
can be difficult!

I'm in San Clemente with a dear friend for the weekend-
we are here to write...
she needs to write a "MOPS" talk
and I wanted to put some time in "something" I'm working on...

BUT,

being creative "ON DEMAND"
isn't as easy as one may think...

it's actually quite
EXHAUSTING!

Maybe it's because we have been eating "crap" all day...
(can I say that in blogland? I'll say it now and apologize later)

Maybe it's all the fact that we have been sitting on our rears....
all day...

Maybe it's because I opened my BIG mouth on Facebook and told everyone I was
going somewhere to "write"
and now I feel
the "pressure" of having to
"produce"
something!

But, alas....it is not by MY power, but by HIS power.
I
don't have to be creative
"ON DEMAND"

because
MY GOD is ALL THINGS
"ON DEMAND".

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Genesis 1:1

"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Psalm 139:13-14

"Create in me a pure heart, Oh God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me."
Psalm 51:10

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Ephesians 2:10

Dad's Memorial

Dad's Memorial on Saturday(posted on Dad's BLOG)

Saturday, we all got together for a Memorial for my dad, "Moe".

It has almost been a year since Dad passed away, and it sure went by fast.

Mom wanted to meet at the gravesite so we did, Gregg, Joan & Family, Me and Family, Aunty Mimi, Dee, Glenn, Kimi, Brianna, Aunty Ar (Dad's little sis), Aunty Aggie (Dad's Big sis) and Uncle Gary, and Scottie.

Mom had me open in prayer and by God's grace,
I didn't cry, half-way through like my normal self.
I did, however, ask God (before I began to pray) to turn off the water, and HE did.

I prayed a very thankful, grateful prayer to God for allowing this fantastic man to be a part of all of our lives and because he had asked Jesus into his heart,
I believe I will see him again.

We all shared stories about Dad-

how generous he was,
what a great, BIG laugh he had,
how he protected his little sis,
how much he loved to eat,
how much he loved his kids &
grandkids,
how much he did to help friends,
how he loved people,
how they loved him,
how he loved life!

It was GREAT!

I hope when I die, friends and family would same about me...

Makes one think....

what do you want people to say about YOU when you die?

LIVE and LOVE today like it was the last year, month or week of your life.

Would you do things differently if it were?

WHAT would you do differently?

At Bible Study today, we prayed for a woman having brain surgery-
it was sudden,
what if it were you or me?
It could be...
You just never know.

Therefore we do not lose heart!
Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is UNSEEN.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is ETERNAL.
2 Corinthians 4:16-17
