Dad's Memorial

Dad's Memorial on Saturday(posted on Dad's BLOG)

Saturday, we all got together for a Memorial for my dad, "Moe".

It has almost been a year since Dad passed away, and it sure went by fast.

Mom wanted to meet at the gravesite so we did, Gregg, Joan & Family, Me and Family, Aunty Mimi, Dee, Glenn, Kimi, Brianna, Aunty Ar (Dad's little sis), Aunty Aggie (Dad's Big sis) and Uncle Gary, and Scottie.

Mom had me open in prayer and by God's grace,
I didn't cry, half-way through like my normal self.
I did, however, ask God (before I began to pray) to turn off the water, and HE did.

I prayed a very thankful, grateful prayer to God for allowing this fantastic man to be a part of all of our lives and because he had asked Jesus into his heart,
I believe I will see him again.

We all shared stories about Dad-

how generous he was,
what a great, BIG laugh he had,
how he protected his little sis,
how much he loved to eat,
how much he loved his kids &
grandkids,
how much he did to help friends,
how he loved people,
how they loved him,
how he loved life!

It was GREAT!

I hope when I die, friends and family would same about me...

Makes one think....

what do you want people to say about YOU when you die?

LIVE and LOVE today like it was the last year, month or week of your life.

Would you do things differently if it were?

WHAT would you do differently?

At Bible Study today, we prayed for a woman having brain surgery-
it was sudden,
what if it were you or me?
It could be...
You just never know.

Therefore we do not lose heart!
Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is UNSEEN.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is ETERNAL.
2 Corinthians 4:16-17

Moody Roller Coaster

Okay- is it just me or are ALL women's moods like a Roller Coaster?
Not any roller coaster, but a good one, like SPACE MOUNTAIN!

The last time I went on Space Mountain at Disneyland was about 6 months ago.
My looooooong time friend (from Kindergarten!) me and my kids into Disneyland.
They all wanted to ride Space Mountain.......even Logan,
who is scared of anything dark, fast and unknown!

So we went.....and this roller coaster is amazing, unpredictable and wild.......
kind of like my moods!

You take off going slowly and smoothly.....kind of like the start of any new day.

Your cart is taken up an incline.....clink, clink, clink....
then all of a sudden you are whizzing downward in the dark.

Who knows what turns and dips you are about to encounter and experience....at any moment you could be jolted to the left, slapped to the right or out of no-where, you are falling and can't see when this craziness will end!
Kind of like my moods!

One day I can be totally Joyful and Peaceful and feel the presence of the Holy Spirit just pulsing through my body, then the next day... something might hit me and all of a sudden I'm thrown to the right or pulled to left into a pit of tears or worse yet, a dark tunnel of sorrow.

I do want to give myself and any other woman out there who may be dealing with
Pre-menopause......
need I say more?
Ha ha!

I also want to give myself and any other woman out there who may be doing the Lord's work....why?
Because there is a Spiritual Battle...and The Evil one is totally messing with our heads.

Let's focus on the LORD and HIS POWER...

But Alas, tomorrow is a NEW day, in fact, it will be a new hour, so I can rejoice and be glad!

Rejoice: to take joy in or give joy to

This is the day that the Lord has made,
Let us REJOICE and be glad in it!
Psalm 118:24

Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:5

And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know suffering produces perseverance;
perseverance character;
and
character,hope.
Romans 5:2

"Halleluja!"
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!
Revelation 19:6-7

Looking Forward to What Lies Ahead!

(Thank you, Julie @ Joy's Hope)

I LOVE this verse...the perfect verse to start the very first month of a brand new year!

I am taking a bible study and we are learning about Paul, the author of this verse.

Paul was not your ordinary man, but in many ways, I guess he was.
When I first read about Paul (he was originally named Saul) I learned that he was:
Prideful
Arrogant,
Hateful,
Selfish,
Ambitious,
Righteous,
Intense,
Cowardly,
Religious,
Intellectual,
Closed Minded,
Indignant.

After his meeting with the risen Christ, he was:
CHANGED!
Grateful,
Selfless,
LOVING,
FORGIVEN,
Committed,
Surrendered,
Intentional,
Purposeful,
Obedient,
Fearless,
Encouraging,
Strong,
Peaceful,

Paul is speaking to the Philippians and to all the believers everywhere.
Can you imagine that he is writing this note from a prison in Rome?

I want to be like Paul.

He is able to find JOY,
REAL JOY,
WHATEVER the circumstance...

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had a bad year last year, okay, I'll say it.
I had a CRAPPY year!
Among other losses, my father passed.
I had a pretty good pity-party.
Party for 3?
Me, myself and I!
I have lots of reasons to continue in my pity party, but this verse says to
STOP!
I MUST...
FOCUS...
ALL..
my...
ENERGIES..
on what... lies...
AHEAD!
(now try that with a William Shatner imitation)
How do I do this?
By spending time refueling with the LORD,
through prayer and reading...
letting HIS WORD
sink in....
deep...
within my head,
heart
and
soul.
I must FOCUS on His HOPE...
"Those who HOPE in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint".
Isaiah 40:31
I must FOCUS on HIM...
"Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Romans 12: 1-2
What do you need to FOCUS on?
